2014 saw another busy year for Lyall, with performances in The Parricide La Mama and two seasons of SuperGirly: Return of the Pop Princess for his own production company, Lab Kelpie. On screen he appeared in The Doctor Blake Mysteries, commercials for Jeep and Thomas Jewellers, and a began a recurring guest role on Winners & Losers. 2014 also saw his third Green Room Award nomination!
Performances on stage in recent years include Sunday in the Park with George for the Victorian Opera, Savages for fortyfivedownstairs, Penelope and The Pride both for Red Stitch, Fat Pig for Lab Kelpie. Previously Lyall has appeared in The Heretic for Melbourne Theatre Company opposite Noni Hazlehurst, the critically acclaimed House for Melbourne Fringe, Urban Display Suite at the Melbourne Theatre Company, fortyfivedownstairs and the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, the Sydney season of Donmar’s Guys & Dolls, Mame and Sugar for The Production Company, Magnormos’s The Thing About Men, and the award-winning cabaret Vaudeville X.
On the big screen Lyall has appeared in Working Dog’s Any Questions For Ben?, while on television he has guest-starred on Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, ABC TV drama Rake, Neighbours and Blue Heelers. His comedy skills have been honed on screen in The Delightfully Shit World of Lachlan and Hayden, Ben Elton Live From Planet Earth, You’re Skitting Me! and as host of Channel 9’s The Mint.
An accomplished voice artist, Lyall has also created and voiced many characters for international kids’ animated series Sumo Mouse and SheZow, the AWGIE award-winning Flea-Bitten! and Get Ace, and the upcoming Kookoo Hirajuku.
